First and foremost, there are no changes in procedures.
There is additional "notice" information being reported on screen 1028 (MVRG). The information is next to the "Insurance: Yes and No" designation. The information states which notice has been sent (#1: 45-day response notice or #2: final 15-day response notice). Also included is the response to the notice, e.g. out of service, sold, no response, etc.

Screens 1027 and 1028 will operate exactly as they always have. At the bottom of the screen an automatic insurance indicator shows one of the following:

YES = Strong indication of mandatory insurance in force.

NO = Strong indication mandatory insurance is not in force and vehicle owner has been notified and has had 45 days to respond.

NOT FOUND = No insurance information found for vehicle on database.

NOT AVAILABLE = Communications with computer interrupted.

DISPATCHERS: Relay the requested information to the field officer in the normal manner and include the insurance information.

COMPUTERS: The insurance information will appear automatically at the bottom of the computer screen.
